Delta CP Decorates 457 Newly Promoted Corporals, Urges Professionalism

The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Yemi Oyeniyi, has decorated 457 officers recently promoted from the rank of Police Constable to Corporal, charging them to uphold professionalism, integrity and dedicated service.

The decoration ceremony, which took place at the Delta State Police Command Headquarters in Asaba, was attended by members of the Command Management Team and other senior officers.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, the Commissioner of Police congratulated them on their elevation, describing the promotion as recognition of their dedication, discipline, loyalty and commitment to duty.

According to him, promotion represents a significant milestone in the career of every police officer and reflects the confidence reposed in them by the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.

He reminded the officers that their new rank comes with increased responsibilities and higher expectations, urging them to remain steadfast in the discharge of their duties and to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and discipline.

Oyeniyi further charged the officers to conduct themselves in a manner that would positively project the image of the Force and sustain public confidence.

The police commissioner also urged the newly promoted corporals to align with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, by respecting the rights of citizens, strengthening community engagement and maintaining public trust in the course of their duties.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to personnel development, welfare and merit-based career progression, noting that hard work, dedication and exemplary conduct remain key requirements for advancement in the Nigeria Police Force.

The Commissioner expressed optimism that the officers would justify the confidence reposed in them and contribute meaningfully to effective policing and improved security in Delta State.
