Abducted Rivers APC Campaign Director Shot Dead

All Progressives Congress Campaign Coordinator in Ahoada-West Local Government Area, Rivers State, Chisom Lennard, has been shot hours after he was abducted by yet-to-be identified gunmen.

It was learned that the victim was abducted by the gunmen in police uniform while casting his vote at the March 18 guber and State House of Assembly elections at Ibagwa polling unit 2 ward 10 in Ahoada West Local Government Area.

It was further learned that the victim was trying to halt his killers from snatching election materials when he was pushed into the car and whisked away.

Commenting, the State APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, who confirmed the incident, said Chisom Lennard was abducted in his polling unit during voting process.

“He was abducted from his polling unit during the voting process and taken away. Nobody knew where they took him to. It was later in the evening of Saturday that his body was discovered.

“He was APC LGA caretaker chairman and was a PhD student at the Rivers State University.”
