Onyeka Ibe: Delta Police Commissioner Detains Murder Suspect, Condoles With Family, Others

The Delta State Commissioner of Police,  CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, has expressed his condolences to the family of late Mr. Onyeka Ibe, who was reportedly shot dead by a police officer on the April 05, 2023.

The deceased was allegedly shot at 09:30 am by Inspector Ebri Ubi, while on Stop and Search duty along Ugbolu-Illah Road, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State.

According to a statement made available to Africa Investigative Magazine by the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, the Police Commissioner has ordered the arrest and abrupt detention of the police officer who allegedly threw late Mr. Ibe’s family into mourning.

The Police Boss further directed the immediate transfer of the alleged Murderer to the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID) Asaba for prompt investigations.

While saying that the Police Force are disciplined Organization, CP Ari assured that he would not accommodate any form of misconduct from members of the Force, noting that the Insp. Ebri Ubi would face internal disciplinary measures and criminal prosecution.

The statement reads in part, “He therefore appealed to members of the public to remain calm and law abiding, assuring them justice will not just be done but will be seen to have been done.
