Police Arrest 35-Year-Old Man For Allegedly Buying Human Parts For Rituals

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one suspected ritualist, Ifasoji Ayangbesan, who specialized in trading and using human parts for rituals.

Ayagbesan who resident at Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of the state, admitted that he bought a pair of fresh human legs from his friend at the rate of N20,000.

The 35-year-old was also accused of trying to bribe police officers with N1m to dodge arrest over his involvement in killing of one Adeyemi, which according to him, was not among the people that murdered the deceased.

Ifasoji Ayangbesan was paraded alongside 12 other suspects on May 04, 2023, at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state capital.

The suspect, however, admitted that he collected the legs from his friend, Lukman, which according to him, exhumed the corpse from a cemetery and severed the legs.

According to him, “I bought the two fresh human legs, but I was not involved in the murder of the victim. I was approached by my friend, Lukman, who told me he had a pair of legs to sell. Though I told him I did not need them, he convinced me to use them for a ritual to better my life and I agreed.”

On allegation to bribe policemen, Ayangbesan said a lawyer had instructed him to provide N10m to secure his release, but he was only able to gather N1m.

Other suspects paraded include five suspected cultists, eight armed robbery suspects and one suspected serial killer.

The state Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, paraded the suspects who he said would soon be brought before the court for further action.
