Ahmad Lawan In Southern Nigeria In Quest To Take Over From Buhari
Senate President Ahmad Lawan took his tour to the South South Region of the country with a visit to Cross River and Akwa Ibom State on Friday.
Lawan first arrived in Calabar, Cross River State and was received by the Deputy Governor of the state, Prof Ivara E.
Esu at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar from where he proceeded to undertake the business of the day before taking the tour to Uyo in Akwa Ibom State, where he was also received by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem.

Lawan’s mission in both states was basically to meet the leaders of his party, the APC and the delegates to solicit their support ahead of the upcoming Presidential primaries of the party.
It was an opportunity for Lawan to meet face-face with the delegates and explain to them why his candidature should be preferred to other aspirants.
During his interaction with the delegates, Lawan identified Security, Economy and Education as his topmost priorities if given the ticket of his party.
The Senate President also paid separate courtesy calls on the Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ben Ayade and Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Udom Emmanuel.
The reception in the two states was overwhelmed and very encouraging for Lawan to continue in his aggressive drive for support across the country.
Lawan’s entourage included former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, Senator John Eno and the Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the Senate President, Abdullahi Gumel.
