Breaking: Cross River Assembly Loses A Lawmaker

A member representing Akpabuyo Constituency in Cross River State House of Assembly, Lady Elizabeth Edem Ironbar is dead.

It could be verified that Elizabeth Ironbar died on Wednesday 27th October 2021 after a protracted illness.

Until her departure, Lady Elizabeth Edem Ironbar was a strategic thinker and a sagacious lawmaker who was deeply committed to the betterment of Cross River State.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that she had represented her constituency since 2015 and was said to have refused to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the defection of the state governor, Ben Ayade to the latter party.

Ironbar was known for her Cross River State Disability Commission bill and is the second member of the ninth Assembly to die.

The first was Mr. Godwin Akwaji, a member of the PDP who represented Obudu constituency that
passed on in June 2020.
