Gbajabiamila Reacts To Azeezat Yishawu’s Emergence As Speaker Of Nigerian Youth Parliament, Says She Can Handle National Office

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, has on Friday, congratulated Dr. Azeezat Yishawu on her emergence as the Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that Dr. Azeezat rose to the position of the speaker of the 5th Nigerian Youth Parliament on Wednesday after the election held at the Senate wing of the National Assembly in Abuja.

It was further gathered that the election was conducted among all the 109 youth parliamentarians representing the 3 senatorial districts of the 36 states in Nigeria.

Reacting, Femi Gbajabiamila said the emergence of Dr. Azeezat who hailed from Lagos State was an indication that she could pilot the affairs of the national office.

Gbajabiamila called on the new Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament to be steadfast in her areas of responsibility.

It could be verified that Nigerian Youth Parliament was inaugurated in 2008 Following the calls of the United Nations to put up a platform for young people to contribute to policy-making.

Dr. Azeezat Yishawu is the first female elected Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament.
