JAMB To Extend UTME Registration By Two Weeks

Afimag.com –

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has been advised to extend its deadline for 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, registration by two weeks.

The House of Representatives gave the urge following a motion of urgent public importance moved by a member from Zamfara State, Mr. Bello Shinkafi.

Hon. Shinkafi, in his motion, appealed to the Examination Body to allow the students more time to participate in this year’s UTME, noting that parents and students might be facing certain restrictions that have hindered their registration exercise.

He cited network challenges and socio-economic imbalance which has taken the center stage of President Bola Tinubu’s administration as a reason most persons have not registered.

The House, however, resolved that the two weeks extension for registration would provide an opportunity for those who could not register to do so.

Adopting the motion, the House mandated its Committee on Examination Board to ensure strict compliance with the resolution of the House.

The motion was referred to the House Committee on Examination Board for further legislative input.
