Novena University Secures Increased Pharm.D Admission Quota, Expands Opportunities for Aspiring Pharmacists

Novena University, Ogume, has secured an increased admission quota for its Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) programme following a successful verification and monitoring exercise by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria.

The approval, conveyed in a letter signed by the Registrar of the Council, Pharm. Ibrahim B. Ahmed, raises the university’s admission quota to 120 students.

The increase follows the Council’s assessment of the Faculty of Pharmacy, during which it expressed satisfaction with the institution’s significant improvements in both physical infrastructure and human resources.

According to the Council, the expanded quota reflects confidence in the university’s capacity to train more pharmacy professionals and aligns with the Federal Government’s directive aimed at strengthening the education and training of healthcare professionals across the country.

The development is expected to create additional opportunities for young Nigerians seeking careers in pharmacy.
Novena University, the first private university in Delta State, has continued to strengthen its reputation as a leading institution for quality tertiary education.

The university offers fully approved and accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Public Health.

Others include Microbiology, Pharmacology, Law, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Political Science, Intelligence and Security Studies, among others.

Reacting to the approval, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Godwin Nduka, expressed appreciation to the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria for its effective regulatory and supervisory role.

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to initiatives and academic programmes that contribute to national development through the training of highly skilled professionals.

Professor Nduka noted that the university would continue to invest in facilities, manpower and academic excellence in line with its vision of producing globally competitive graduates.
