Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, on the occasion of his fifth coronation anniversary.
In a congratulatory statement released from Asaba through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor congratulated the traditional ruler, a peace-loving and visionary monarch whose tenure has helped bring about unity, peaceful coexistence and development within Warri Kingdom.
Oborevwori commended Atuwatse III for his excellent traditional leadership as well as the important contributions he has made to socio-economic revitalisation of the kingdom in the past five years.
The governor congratulated the Olu for his dedication towards conservation of the culture and traditions of the Itsekiri nation as well as maintaining peaceful relations with other ethnic groups in Delta State.
“The Olu is a man of peace, a bridge-builder and a man of great integrity,” the governor said, adding that the Olu’s leadership has been an inspiration to his people.
He urged people of Warri Kingdom to continue supporting the Olu in the pursuit of his dream of building a united, peaceful and prosperous Iwere nation.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I congratulate His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri on the occasion of his fifth coronation anniversary.
“Over the past five years, His Majesty has distinguished himself through responsible traditional leadership, dedication to the welfare of his people and commitment to the preservation of the customs and traditions of the Itsekiri nation.
“His reign has been characterized by promotion of peace, unity, socio-cultural cooperation and harmonious relationships between the Itsekiri and other ethnic nationalities in Delta State.
“On this special occasion, I celebrate His Majesty and pray that God will continue to bless him with good health, wisdom and strength to serve as a purposeful traditional and cultural leader of his people,” Oborevwori said.
