Pentecost: Catholic Priest Urges Christians To Embrace Unity, Condemns Division

By Odili Ogochukwu

The Parish Priest of St Michael Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Augustine Kabba, has called on Christians to embrace unity, love and selflessness as they celebrate Pentecost.

Fr. Kabba made the call on Sunday during his homily at the church in Otovwodo, Ughelli, in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.

He also condemned division and disunity among Christians, saying such acts weaken the body of Christ and go against the teachings of Jesus Christ.

According to him, the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost should remind Christians of the need to live in peace, tolerate one another and work together for the growth of the church and society.

The resident priest said Christians must avoid hatred, envy and selfishness, stressing that the Holy Spirit promotes love, understanding and togetherness among believers.

Fr. Kabba urged Christians to support one another, care for the less privileged and show kindness in their daily activities.

He also encouraged the faithful to remain prayerful and committed to the teachings of Christ, noting that true Christianity is reflected through service to humanity.

The priest prayed for peace, unity and progress in the country, urging Nigerians to continue trusting in God despite the nation’s challenges.
