Odili Ogochukwu –
Delta State Police Command has provided helpful updates on the 2023 Police Constable Recruitment Exercise to guild Deltan applicants for physical/credentials screening.
The update is contained in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP. Edafe Bright, obtained by AFIMAG on January 05, 2024.
Edafe said that the screening of Deltan indigenes who applied for the 2022 recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as police constables for the “Automated Physical/Credentials” would commence on January 08, 2024.
According to him, the exercise, which begins at 7 a.m daily, in Cenotaph Parade Ground Asaba, Delta State capital, would elapse on January 29, 2024.
The PPRO further advised applicants to visit https://apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng/ to the recruitment portal to print out their invitation slips and come for their screening on the scheduled date marked in the print-out.
He said, “all applicants are to appear in their clean white T-shirt and shorts with the following mandatory basic screening requirements, neatly arranged in two white flat files with a recent passport photograph attached:
“i. Evidence of physical/mental fitness from a government-recognized Medical Hospital. ii. Evidence of Good character from Village/District Head of the applicant. iii. Certificate of Origin duly signed by the Local Government Chairman or Secretary. iv. National Identity Number (NIN) – Slip Print-out.
“v. Original and duplicate copies of credentials – O’ Level Result(s), Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age. vi. Print-out of application form. vii. Duly completed Guarantor’s form. viii. Invitation slip.”
He added that “any candidate who fails to present the items (i – viii) mentioned in Paragraph 2 above will not be considered for screening. Applicants are equally advised to pay attention to their scheduled date and time, other details, and specific guidelines on the screening exercise.”
According to him, the Commissioner of Police Delta State Command, CP Wale Abass, also advised the applicants to be skeptical about online impostors, fraudsters and criminal elements that might want to take advantage of the recruitment process to defraud innocent applicants.
“He further assures the public that the entire exercise will be conducted in line with the professional guidelines of the Force; and it is completely free.”
