Rivers Appeal Court judge, Justice Ikyegh Dies At 65

The Presiding Justice of Court of Appeal, Port-Harcourt Division, Justice Joseph Shagbaor Ikyegh has died at 65.
Justice Ikyegh who hailed from Benue State was said to have died on December 06, 2023, at his Makurdi residence situated at the Achussa Community area.
His death was announced by the Chief Judge of Benue state, Justice Maurice Ikpambese, during a public function in Makurdi when he requested for a minute silence in honour of late Ikyegh.
At the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued by his family over his demise as Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that the deceased collapsed while making a phone call at home and effort by family members to revive him yielded no result.
He was later rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, BSUTH, Makurdi where he was confirmed dead by medical practitioners.
The late jurist recently made the list of the 22 Justices of the Court of Appeal shortlisted by Federal Judicial Service Commission, FJSC, and forwarded to the National Judicial Council, NJC, to be promoted to the apex court from the North Central, on reserve basis.
