Schools Resume Monday, September 11 In Delta

All Public, Private Primary and Secondary Schools in Delta State will resume the first term academic activities on September 11, 2023, the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced.

A statement by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Augustine Oghoro, on behalf of the two Commissioners in charge of Education Ministry, said teachings would commence immediately the classrooms are tidied by the students.

According to the statement, parents and guardians are required to prepare their children and wards for resumption in the first term of the 2023/2024 academic year.

It added that the state government would ensure cogent enactment of the academic calendar.

Oghoro, who said the resumption test for the learners would place on Thursday, September 14, added that there was urgent need for the teachers and the learners to resume on September 11, 2023 to enable the learners write the resumption test.

According to him, the two commissioners in the Ministry and the Permanent Secretary would lead staff of the Ministry to monitor the level of compliance of teachers and learners.

It also directed all the Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs) in the 25 Local Government Areas of the state to monitor the compliance.

The statement further explained that the Ministry would sanction any teacher who failed to comply with the directives to resume and begin classes.
