England playmaker, Raheem Sterling, would leave the 2022 FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar after armed robbers stormed his house and attacked his family in United Kingdom.
Sterling had started two of the country’s three games at the World Cup, but was not in the game against Senegal where his side won 3-0.

It was reported that Sterling was left out of the squad over what is described as “family matter” a few minutes, to the commencement of the their game against Senegal in round of 16.
Sterling had wanted to go home immediately he was informed of the armed robbery incident in his home see his family and ascertain the degree of damaged done to the house.

Responding, England Football Technical Director, Gareth Southgate said it is understood that Sterling is departing for UK but he could return to Qatar if everything seems right.
Southgate said, “I really don’t know, it’s a situation he needs time to deal with, I don’t want to put any pressure on him.
“Sometimes football isn’t the most important thing and family should come first.”
