Super Eagles Prepared To Crack Ghana’s Menance – Musa
Nigerian Winger, Ahmed Musa have announced that the Super Eagles of Nigeria are in right shape to tackle the menance of Black Stars of Ghana to qualify for 2022 FIFA World Cup, hosted by Qatar.
Super Eagles will host Ghana in a return leg tomorrow March 29, 2022 after a goaless draw in Ghana. Ghanians need a at least a draw to seal off their chances of the global game.
Speaking with newsmen, the super eagles captain was optimistic, saying that his colleagues cannot afford to let opportunities slip through their fingers.
He said: “All the players, including myself, want to go to the World Cup. For me, it is very important because it could be my last World Cup.
“I enjoyed the last two finals that I participated in, Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018. I want to experience it again. Most of the players in the present squad have not been to the World Cup.
“They desire to be there. We all know it won’t be easy. Ghana will come here to do battle but we are ready for whatever they turn up with. I will not say more than that,” Musa said.
Recall that Super Eagles had notable outings during the 1994, 1998 and 2014 FIFA World Cup, where it reached the Round of 16.
In the just concluded Africa Cup of Nation that was hosted by Cameroon with Senegal lifting her first trophy, Super Eagles began with an impressive performance, winning all its group matches but could advance pass Tunisia at the knock out stage.
However, Nigeria and Ghana crashed in a 2001 FIFA World Cup qualifying finished 0-0 in Accra while Nigeria defeated Ghana 3-0 in second leg at Port Harcourt to qualify for Korea/Japan.
