Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, will on February 2, 2026, inaugurate the newly completed Omadino Model Technical College in Warri South Local Government Area, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen skills-based education and youth empowerment in the state.
A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, said the inauguration ceremony will hold at the college premises by 10:00 a.m., with invited guests expected to be seated by 9:30 a.m.
The Omadino Model Technical College is among the legacy projects inherited by the Oborevwori administration and has now been fully completed and equipped to deliver modern technical and vocational education.
The institution is structured to provide students with practical, industry-relevant skills aimed at promoting self-reliance and improving employability in line with national productivity and development objectives.
Facilities at the college include purpose-built workshops, modern classrooms, laboratories, and specialised training units designed to meet contemporary standards in technical education.
The institution is expected to serve as a hub for developing skilled technicians, artisans, and innovators capable of responding to the demands of a rapidly evolving economy.
According to the statement, Governor Oborevwori considers technical and vocational education a key component of his MORE Agenda, particularly in creating sustainable pathways for young people to acquire marketable skills, reduce unemployment, and contribute meaningfully to socio-economic growth.
The inauguration is expected to attract key stakeholders, educationists, and community leaders, marking another milestone in the administration’s commitment to strengthening human capital development and expanding access to quality, functional education across Delta State.
