A socio-political group, Itsekiris Advocacy for Peace and Unity in Warri North, has formally endorsed three candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing their commitment to unity, peace, and sustainable development.
The group threw its weight behind Dr. Micheal Diden, popularly known as Ejele, for the Delta South Senatorial seat; Chief Thomas Ereyitomi for the House of Representatives; and Ambassador Benjamin Kukuru, also known as Ebis, for the State House of Assembly.
The endorsement, according to the group, followed a series of consultative meetings and a thorough review of the candidates’ manifestos and track records.
In a statement issued by its leadership, the group noted that the vision and policy direction of the endorsed candidates align with its core objective of fostering peace, unity, and inclusive development in Warri North Local Government Area.
It further commended the trio for their sustained efforts toward strengthening harmony between the Itsekiri and Ijaw ethnic nationalities, describing such initiatives as critical to long-term socio-economic progress in the region.
The group particularly highlighted Ambassador Kukuru’s consistent advocacy for reconciliation and restoration of cordial relations between the two communities, stressing that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of mutual trust and stability.
“Meaningful development cannot occur in an environment characterised by conflict and hostility. These candidates have demonstrated the capacity and willingness to bridge divides and promote collective progress,” the statement read.
The group, therefore, called on political leaders, stakeholders, and residents of Warri North to rally support for the endorsed candidates in the interest of peace, unity, and accelerated development.
The statement was jointly signed by Comrade Paul Ometie, President; Jackson Sassnmi Atatuoma, Vice President; Edema Blessing, Secretary; Mrs. Ruth Madamedon, Woman Leader; Robert Orugbo, Public Relations Officer; Kingsley Ogedegbe, Treasurer; Kingsley Osahon, Youth Leader; and Comrade Happy Mene, Chief Adviser.
