By Emmanuel Enukegu

Former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has officially submitted his nomination form to contest for the Delta Central Senatorial District seat ahead of the January 16, 2027 general election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued on Thursday, Omo-Agege described the submission of the form as an important milestone in his political journey and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said his decision to contest was in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act 2022 as amended, as well as the constitution and guidelines of the APC.

The former lawmaker also pledged to work closely with Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, towards building a united, prosperous and development-oriented Delta State.

Omo-Agege expressed appreciation to APC leaders and members in Delta Central for their continued support and confidence in him, while commending the party leadership for what he described as a transparent and orderly nomination process.

“As we gear up for the 2027 elections, I pledge to conduct a campaign centered on issues and peace, truly reflecting the hopes and dreams of our people,” he stated.

He further called on party stakeholders and supporters to remain united, noting that unity within the APC remained the party’s greatest strength.

According to him, the people of Delta Central deserve accessible and responsive representation focused on delivering results, adding that he remains committed to upholding that standard if elected.

Omo-Agege served as Deputy President of the 9th Senate and holds the traditional title of Obarisi of Urhoboland.
