The leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State, has intensified its grassroots engagement with a visit to prominent leaders as part of efforts to deepen community outreach and consolidate support for the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The delegation, led by the Ndokwa West Chapter Chairman, Comr. Nice Ossai, visited the Warrant Chief of Utagba-Uno, Chief George Nmor, and the Woman Leader of Umuseti, Utagba-Uno.

Other members of the delegation included the Acting Secretary, Comr. Brown Olie; Youth Leader, Comr. Bright Ojumah and the Women’s Leader, Comrade Mrs. Doris Ossai.

Speaking during the visit, Comr. Nice Ossai said the engagement underscored the party’s commitment to working closely with community leaders and residents to promote inclusive governance and sustainable development.

“This visit reflects our belief that meaningful leadership begins with listening to the people. We are committed to strengthening our relationship with our communities and ensuring that their voices remain central to our vision for Ndokwa West,” he said.

Responding, Chief George Nmor commended the NDC leadership for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of respect for elders and grassroots leadership.

“Your visit shows that the NDC recognises the importance of community leaders in the democratic process. We appreciate this gesture and encourage you to remain committed to the welfare of the people,” he said.

Chief Nmor pledged to mobilise support for the party and its candidates in Ward 4 during the elections.

“I will use my influence to ensure that all NDC candidates in Ward 4 receive the support they deserve because our people want leaders who are committed to development and the progress of the community,” he stated.

He also praised Engr. Edwin Nzei for providing solar-powered street lights in Utagba-Uno, noting that the intervention has improved security and enhanced daily life for residents.

“The street lights facilitated by Engr. Edwin Nzei have brought visible benefits to our community. If he is given the opportunity to represent us in the Delta State House of Assembly, I am confident he will attract more developmental projects to our constituency,” Chief Nmor added.

The NDC delegation thanked the community leaders for the warm reception and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to sustained grassroots engagement, inclusive leadership and people-centred development across Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
