Akpowowo Wins Ethiope East House of Assembly PDP Primaries, Assures Better Representation

Following the People Democratic Party (PDP), in Ethiope East House of Assembly primaries election held at the council secretariat, the Immediate past Delta State commissioner for Urban renewal, Hon. (Barr), Arthur Akpowowo has emerged winner.
However, the PDP Primaries election which was held under tight security was free, fair and credible.
Earlier in his speech, the chairman of the three man panel of the election led by the Hon. Commissioner for Economic planing, Hon. Barry Gbe said, we are here to conduct the PDP house of Assembly primaries, which is going to be free, fair and credible, and at the end, any one who emerges winner will be the party candidate for the next generation election.
Therefore, 34 adhoc delegates that were draw from the eleven (11), wards of the local government voted for the primaries, earlier before the election, one of the Aspirants Hon. Abel Okuse stepped aside saying, his decision to step aside is for the interest of the party.

However, the immediate past Executive chairman of Ethiope East Local government council, Hon. Mrs. Faith Majemite, scored 10 votes, Mr. Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe score 9 votes while the immediate past Delta State commissioner for Urban renewal Hon. Barr. Arthur Akpowowo, scored 15 votes to emerge winner.
While declaring Akpowowo winer of the PDP Ethiope East House of Assembly primary election, chairman of the three man panel of the election led by Barry Gbe, said, the winning of Akpowowo was a victory for PDP, adding that PDP is one family and his victory at the party primaries is for the people of Ethiope East.
Speaking to Newsmen immediately after Akpowowo had been declared winner, the Ethiope East House of Assembly candidate said, my victory today is a victory for PDP.
According to him, “everybody is a winner, those Aspirants that contested with me should join hands with me to move the party forward”
“although it is a misfeeling for me any way, when l heard that the delegates to vote will be only 34, but to God be thy glory, so Ethiope East people should join hand with me so as to defeat the APC come 2023 because since 2011 the opposition has been winning Ethiope East, but this time now PDP will take over”
He also commended the officials over the peaceful conduct of the primaries election describing the exercise as a welcome development.
