Drugs Produced And Sold In Nigeria Not Worth Consuming – NAFDAC Official

The National Association For Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Chief Laboratory Technologist, Usman Amen, has said that drugs produced and sold in Nigeria are not worth consuming.
Usman Amen who led the Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, (Lagos Team), also said stores in Onitsha are notorious in dealing with unregistered and expired drugs.
He disclosed this when he led the Agency’s Lagos Team on March 31, 2023, in raiding of a store at Head Bridge Market in Onitsha, for selling expired and unregistered drugs.

He explained that the raid came up after a tip off on the scandalous activities going on in the market.
According to Amen, the recovered drugs in the store were via.gra, afrof-ranil, brea!st enhancement, a.ss enhancement, rocket in pocket men g.el, tram!adol, among others.
The Team Leader further said that the operatives of the store abandoned their stocks and took to their heels upon the agency’s arrival.
He said, “We had to break the store and on entering inside, we saw some exp.ired dru.gs, like tra.madol, bre.ast enhan.cer and all kinds of s3xu.al drug enhancers. We ensured that we evaluated the drugs and sealed up the store.
He added that the store owners would come to NAFDAC office in Lagos for interrogation.
The Agency also sealed the store in Ogbo-Ogwu Market for not enlisting a particular drug it sold in the invoice, and for selling some products not allowed in the market.
He urged the public to be vigilant, saying that the drugs being produced and sold in the market were not worth consuming.
