Bandits Kill Nine In Kogi Community Midnight Attack

The Tuesday midnight attack at Bagana community in the Omala Local Government Area, Kogi State has left nine persons dead.

The State Public Relations Officer, DSP William Aya, narrated that a resident called the DPO on phone around 9.30 pm on Tuesday that his shop was attacked by gunmen.

According to him, the attack led to the death of his sales boy, Bashir Sule, and three other customers, while others were severely wounded.

“In receipt of the distress call, the DPO mobilized his men to the scene and evacuated some of the injured to the hospital for treatment.

The PPRO added that the force had commenced a manhunt to bring the perpetrators to book.

It was verified that there has been a lingering crisis between the Agatu militias and Fulani herders from Benue State.

An eyewitness told Africa Investigative Magazine that people were woken up from their sleep by gunshots.

He lamented that they counted five dead bodies as well as that of a dispensary staff of the Local Government Health Center at Ogba, residing in Bagana.

The residents however called on the well-meaning Nigerians and International Communities to come to their aid as the federal government of Nigeria has turned deaf ears.
