The Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that Delta State remains hot for criminals.
This is imperative in the recent arrest of several suspected kidnappers and armed robbers, as well as the recovery of various firearms and ammunition.
According to a press release issued by the command, the arrests were made possible through intelligence-led investigations and the efforts of operatives from the CP Special Assignment team (CP-SAT) and Safer Highway Patrol.
The CP-SAT Operstives arrested a suspected kidnapper, Emeka (surname unknown), and recovered a fabricated Semi-Automatic Beretta Pist*l, four locally made cut-to-size gπns, thirteen rounds of live cartridges, and a pair of military uniforms.
Also, Safer Highway Patrol operatives arrested four suspects (Buhari Bala, Habibu Sale, Abdulwahab Musa, and Taisu Bala) in possession of three locally made single-barrel gπns, charms, a G-3 Rif!e, and a pump action gπn.
In a separate operation, operatives recovered a G-3 Rif!e and a pump action gπn hidden in the ceiling of a one-room apartment in Agbarho Division.
CP Abaniwonda, however, urged members of the public to continue providing useful, timely, and credible information to the police, and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or by calling the command control room numbers.
