Delta State Police Command Records Milestones In Fight Against Crime
The Delta State Police Command has announced several notable achievements in its efforts to curb crime and ensure public safety in the state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Edafe Bright, the command has recorded significant successes in the areas of kidnapping, armed robbery, and drug trafficking.
The command arrested a notorious kidnapper, Godstime Ajugba, and recovered two AK-47 rifles, one K2 rifle, and other incriminating items.
Edafe who briefed Journalists on the development in Ughelli on November 25, 2024, said two armed robbers were killed in a shootout with police, and one English pump action gun, one locally made cut-to-size gun, and 57 live cartridges were recovered.
He added that Police and hunters rescued a kidnapped victim, and one of the kidnappers was killed in the process. Two AK-47 rifles were recovered.
Busting of Illicit Drug Warehouse
The Police also busted an illicit drug warehouse in Sapele and arrested several suspected drug dealers leading to recovery of multiple bottles of codeine, tramadol, and other prohibited drugs.
Also, three suspected armed robbers who disguised themselves as transporters were arrested, and their operational vehicle was recovered.
Reacting, the Delta State Police Command, while reacting to the incident, commended its operatives for their dedication and commitment to public safety.
The command has also assured the public of its continued efforts to curb crime and ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
