How A Secondary School Student Becomes A One Day Governor In Abia State

A Senior Secondary School three student (SSS3) in Aba, Abia State, Miss Precious Okorie has become 2021 Abia State One Day Governor.

Miss Okorie Precious hailed from item, in Bende local government area of Abia State.

It was learned that the female student had won the 2021 edition of the ‘One Day Governor’ competition to attain the height.

Recall that a student of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, Kaitlin Gee-Akwada, has also emerged as the one-day Vice-Chancellor in her school as she attained a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 5.0.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that the initiative was established to inspire youths to work hard and to equip them politically at the corridor of power.

While relinquishing power to Miss Okorie at Governor’s Lodge, Aba, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu revealed that the One Day Governor initiative was aimed at motivating youths who aspire for great opportunities.

“The One Day Governor initiative was designed to motivate youths to aspire for leadership and to create opportunities for them to excel.”

Okezie Ikpeazu who congratulated Miss Precious Okorie for achieving this feat hinted that hard work is the only key that opens the door for prosperity.

He, however, called on the youths of the state to emulate Precious Okorie to portray the State in a good light.

In her speech, Miss Okorie Precious drew the attention of the state government to some of the critical issues affecting the girl-child.

She appealed to the governor to establish the Children’s Parliament to address the challenges affecting the girl-child.
