The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF), under the leadership of Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli, has announced that Dr. Ochuko Benedict Emudainohwo, Associate Professor of Accounting at Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, will serve as Guest Speaker at its 6th Annual Lecture scheduled for November 27, 2025.
The highly anticipated event, which will hold at David’s Event Centre, Asaba, will commence at 11:00 a.m. According to a statement by the Planning Committee Chairman, Mr. Abel Johngold, and Secretary, Mrs. Josephine Omodior, Dr. Emudainohwo was chosen in recognition of his “outstanding academic achievements, professional excellence, and contributions to accounting education and financial governance.”
The statement described the guest speaker as “an accomplished scholar and professional accountant with a strong record of academic leadership, research productivity, and service to both the discipline and the wider professional community.”
Dr. Emudainohwo, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), currently lectures at DOU, where he also served as Acting Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, during the 2023/2024 academic session.
Under his leadership, the faculty recorded remarkable growth in curriculum innovation, faculty development, and interdisciplinary research.
A distinguished academic, Dr. Emudainohwo holds a PhD in Accounting from Glasgow, United Kingdom, as well as Master’s and MBA degrees in Finance, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos (UNILAG). His research interests span foreign direct investment, taxation, financial governance, firm performance, and public sector accountability.
He has authored several scholarly articles published in reputable national and international journals, focusing on fiscal policy, accountability, and governance reforms in developing economies. His works have become key references in contemporary debates on accounting standards and financial policy formulation.
At Dennis Osadebay University, Dr. Emudainohwo coordinates the Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) and teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Financial Accounting, Contemporary Issues in Accounting, Social and Environmental Accounting, and Advanced Management Accounting Theory. He is also widely respected for his mentorship of young scholars and his contributions to institutional governance through service on various university committees.
The DOPF Planning Committee expressed optimism that his lecture, themed “Nigeria’s New Tax Law: Implications and Opportunities for Businesses and Society,” will offer a balanced blend of academic insight, practical relevance, and policy direction.
The 2025 DOPF Annual Lecture will also feature a distinguished panel of discussants drawn from government, academia, the private sector, and civil society. It is expected to attract key stakeholders, including policymakers, corporate executives, professionals, and members of the media.
The organisers further disclosed that His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, will attend as Special Guest of Honour, alongside other top government officials and dignitaries from across the country.
