The Okpanam Divisional Police has at weekend arrested a robbery suspect with dummy gun at Okpanam, Aniocha/Oshimili Local Government Area, Delta State.
In a swift response to distress call, the DPO deployed patrol teams, and upon arrival at scene, the suspect, Emmanuel Peace (male) had forced the aged couple to transfer the sum of six hundred thousand naira (N600, 000.00) to one bank account owned by Anwanga Abasi Nathaniel Udo.
The police recovered two knives, one torchlight and one dummy gun from the 18 years old suspect.
Meanwhile, the Eagle-Net Special Squad on routine patrol along Ughelli-Warri express way on Monday arrested two male suspects for illegal possession of firearms.
The squad while on ‘stop and search’ duty intercepted a Toyota Picnic with registration number AAA 464 YA and six male onboard.
According to the statement released by Delta State Police Command, the suspects were arrested on June 14, 2021 at 11:30am prompt.
The statement said, “the countenance of some of the passengers caused suspicion, hence they were all asked to come down for search.
While at the process of searching, three locally made pistols, two mobile phones, one mobile power bank and the sum of three hundred and sixteen thousand six hundred and forty naira (N316, 640.00) were recovered from two occupants.
The suspects, Kevin Godstime, a 20 year old, hailed from Upper Afiesere in Ughelli North Local Government while Samson Ekutu, a 23 year old hailed from Ugbogeme, Udu Local Government, Delta State”, he added.
