Fire Destroys Multi-Million-Naira Hotel In Anambra

A multi-million-naira, Soprom Hotel located at federal housing Estate 3-3, Onitsha, Anambra state, was gutted by fire at the early hours of July 03, 2023.

Though, no death was recorded, the cause of the fire is not yet ascertained.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that the fire which began at 4:30 am, burnt a some parts of the two-storey building.

The fire service, Asaba, Delta State and Anambra arrived at the scene later to put out the fire.

The state police public relations officer (PPRO), DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement described the incident as unfortunate, saying that the situation is under control.

Ikenga said, “The situation is under control. The fire started around 4:30 am on Monday and when we got the information, our men were quickly mobilised to the scene and they condoned off the area to avoid any case of vandalism.

“No loss of life and the men of the fire service are on the ground controlling the situation and managing the fire.”
