Guardiola Remains Defiant Despite Manchester City’s Slump

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is staying calm and composed despite the team’s challenging run of results, insisting that they will turn things around.

The team’s recent 1-1 draw against Everton on Boxing Day at the Etihad Stadium, despite dominating much of the game, has left Guardiola defiant.

“Manchester City will be back,” Guardiola confidently declared. His remarks were part of a statement on the club’s website titled “Guardiola Determined to ‘Change the Dynamic”.

Guardiola’s 500th game was scheduled for December 29, against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, a fixture he hopes will mark a turning point. The City boss anticipates a stern test against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side.

“Sometimes you expect it will be easy to fix, but sometimes it will take more time,” Guardiola admitted. “I will not give up. I want to be here and do it. The situation we have, we have to do it”.

Despite the frustration, Guardiola saw positives in the Everton draw, contrasting it with the recent defeat to Manchester United. “I congratulated the team [after the Everton game]; it was ‘well played, guys,'” Guardiola revealed.

Manchester City has had just one win from their last 13 matches, leaving them 14 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool. However, Guardiola remains confident that his team will bounce back.
