Ndokwa Nation Sets To Hold International Peace Day On May 17

The Coalition of Ndokwa Peace Ambassadors (CONPA), under the leadership of Amb. Alex Chukwuka Uboh has announced that it has set May 17, 2022 aside as a day for Ndokwa Nation to celebrate peace.

The body made this known during her first physical annual meeting held on Sunday 13, 2022 at Kwale, Delta State.

The purpose of the meeting was to figure out the possible measures for peace to have its way across the three local government areas in Ndokwa Nation and other parts of the state.

Africa Investigative Magazine learned that the Ndokwa Peace Day which is also known as CONPA International Day has been scheduled to take place at Obiaruku, Ukwani Local Government Area.

It was further gathered that the event would mark the Non Profit Organization’s seven years of existence in Ndokwa Nation.

Recall that the Coalition of Ndokwa Peace Ambassadors had in the past resolved a lot of technical and community conflicts in various parts of the state.

Speaking at the occasion, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly hopeful, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Dr. Charles Obiechine Olisa commended the group for making the region peaceful.

He said that the association has been very instrumental in Delta State, noting that Ndokwa people were enjoying relatively peace as a result of the group’s commitment and selfless services to humanity.

“I thank Amb. Chukwuka Uboh and the entire members of CONPA for the good job they are doing in Ndokwa Nation. I couldn’t have honoured their invitation if they were not doing well.

“Let us live in peace and unity as CONPA has come to stay to avoid a situation where you would have money but cannot buy anything because of crises. CONPA has made us to sleep with our two eyes closed.”

Commenting, a member of All Progressives Congress, Comrade Azuka Odanike said his invitation to the meeting was evidence that the body was not politically controlled by the state government or Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as against speculations of people that CONPA is working for PDP.

Azuka Odanike encouraged the body to be technical and proactive while addressing some issues, urging them to always find out the root cause of disputes before wading into it for resolutions.

He explained that sometimes, it would take doggedness and ruggedness for the body to attain her objectives. He added that CONPA must be detached from partisan politics for its dreams to come through.

Earlier, the President General, Coalition of Ndokwa Peace Ambassadors, Amb. Alex Chukwuka Uboh expressed his profound gratitude to a member representing Ndokwa/Ukwani Federal Constituency, Hon. Ossai N Ossai for his contributions toward making the body see green light.

Amb. Uboh called on Deltans, especially the sons and daughters of Ndokwa Nation to embrace peace, saying that there would be no development without a peaceful coexistence.

He also appealed to the political leaders to support CONPA to foster peace and unity in Ndokwa Nation and Delta State at large.

In a similar way, Surveyor Wilfred Eseagwu and Former Special Assistant to the Deputy Senate President (Ovie Omo-Agege), Chief Emmanuel Adigwe trended on the same direction. They advised CONPA to recognize all the well-meaning sons and daughters of Ndokwa Nation irrespective of party affiliations.

On his part, the group’s spokesman, Comrade Ugochukwu Nwaedozie thanked the supporters of CONPA and stressed on the need to give peace a priority.

He admonished the general public to shun the habits that are capable of throwing the state into chaos.
