Kidnappers Demand N70m To Release Former Deputy Governor

The kidnappers of the former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa state, Professor Onje Gye Wado have demanded a N70 million ransom for his release.
A family source who did not want his name in print said the kidnappers placed a call for the first time and demanded N70 million for his release.
Gye-Wado was kidnapped at his residence in Rinza village, Wamba local government area of the state a few minutes before midnight on Thursday.
It was gathered that the kidnappers gained entrance into the compound through the fence, burgled his wife’s window and went away with the former deputy governor to an unknown destination.
It was further gathered that the victim has been surviving kidnapped attempts and one of his cousin was shot dead in one of the failed attempts.
Recall that Prof Onje Gye-Wado deputy governor under, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, between 1999 to 2003.
The Abductors, however, have demanded that N70 million be paid before the victim breathes the air of freedom.
