Suspected Fulani Herdersmen Kill Six In Benue

Armed men suspected to be Fulani herdersmen recently raided two communities in Benue State killing six people.

The incident occured a week after the state inaugurated Volunteer Community Guards to boost the state security outfit.

The incident happened at Tse Ngojov and Tse Valem Yaweh in Mbagum communities in Logo Local Government Area of the state.

Africa Investigative Magazine learned that the Fulani herdsmen invaded the communities around 9:30pm on August 10, 2022, killing six people and injuring three others.

A credible source who preferred anonymity identified the victims as Ander John, Vihior Mtomga, Morgan Varem, Saaior Uyoosu, Aondoyima Tarbo and Peter Asondo.

He said, “The injured persons are receiving treatment at the Primary Health Care Ayilamo.”

The Security Adviser to the governor, Lt Col Paul Hemba (retd), confirmed the incident, saying the local government council boss briefed him.

“I have relayed to the governor and the governor has directed that the deceased be buried while the injured ones are evacuated to the University Teaching hospital, Makurdi,” he said.
